Designer Profile: Peg
Client, friend, acquaintance? It can sometimes be hard to pinpoint the relationship I have with my clients. Perhaps this connection can be made easier if you have a bit of information about me going into a project.
I am a homegrown designer growing up on a farm just outside of Sioux Center. The journey into the world of design was a natural one as my lifelong interest in art, design and construction was encouraged by my family and refined in the interior design program at Iowa State University. Exposure to different styles and design approaches came with living for a time in Florida and Pennsylvania as well as traveling throughout the US and England. Freelance design work enabled me to work in residential, commercial and institutional design prior to coming to Vander Berg Furniture & Flooring.
The real rewarding part of design for me is letting the environment tell the story of your family, life, work and aspirations. Give and take are very much a part of the design process. The way I see it, my design proposals are a jumping off point for both my client and myself to refine the final product. The photos shown in this article include a small sampling of my recent projects, and many can be seen in our VB Homes’ Model Homes located at the Furniture Store or in the VB Model Homes’ Virtual Tours HERE.
