Design Trend: Mix Your Metals
Going into fall and winter it just feels good to add some sparkle and shine to our surroundings. On our recent trip to market at High Point, the design trends we spotted still have a lot of the chrome and silver finishes, although many are somewhat distressed or softened.
Galvanized patinas are a familiar thing in our agricultural based area, so it is pleasing and compelling to see it used in our decorative items. We stock some of these fun pieces so you can add this great sense of place to your everyday decorating.
For a dressier feel, the silver pewter tones have continued this time-worn touch. No surprise to a lot of us who have been around for a while, but “what is old is new again!”
Soft gold finishes are abounding in the latest line of accessories and furnishings. At times they even straddle the line between silver and gold. Lovely! It allows you to gracefully transition what you already have with what is coming.
