Vander Berg Furniture has the unique advantage of offering complimentary Interior Design service to all our customers, whether you already have a vision, or have no idea where to begin. Both Jodi and myself have a Bachelor of Arts degree in design and have decades of experience in both residential and commercial design. If you are wondering what that means for you, let me give an example of a project.
It begins with a visit here at the store where we schedule a time to come out to your house to get a scope of the project you have in mind. This is generally when we can get a feel for the taste and budget you are comfortable with, as well as get some photos, drawings, and measurements. Our job is to help you achieve your goal, not impose our agenda on you. This is where our education and experience are so valuable to you, the customer.
Exposure to the latest trends at the markets, in combination with the background and training in the principles of design, helps us focus all the various components and contractors to achieve the same objective.
In many cases we will draw up a few options for possible floor plans as well as some overall color scheme options, including fabrics, flooring and window treatments. We can also help you pick out paint color and wall paper (a part that scares many when designing a room.) This is where the opportunity comes for your input, to take into consideration how the space will be used, as well as building off the fabric and colors that catch your eye.
Together we will create a home that reflects you and your family.
Our flooring department will provide quotes as well as coordinate the installation schedule. Many questions that come up in the course of the project can be handled smoothly in conjunction with the designers and flooring department, allowing you to focus on the overall transformation of your space.
Once the “dirty work” is done we can help with the layering on of the finishing touches that make your house a home.
If you build a Vander Berg Home, we’ll also help you with exterior plans, lighting, or kitchen planning. Otherwise, those services will be billed at an hourly rate.
